Western Kentucky added two new assistant coaches to its football program Monday.

The first hire of the day, as first reported by Fox Sports, was former Houston head coach Tony Levine.

Levine went 21-17 in three seasons at the helm and led the Cougars to bowl games in both 2012 and 2014.

Levine, who played wide receiver at Minnesota, coached at Louisville from 2003-05 alongside current WKU head coach Jeff Brohm.

The second addition of the day was a big one, as Jeff Brohm added brother Brian Brohm to the staff.

Brian Brohm will coach quarterbacks for the Hilltoppers, according to an official announcement from the program.

Brohm, Jeff’s younger brother, has spent the last eight seasons in professional football as a quarterback, spending three seasons in the NFL, one season in the United Football League and three seasons in the Canadian Football League – the last two with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he played in 14 games. He was released by Winnipeg in Janauary.

Brian Brohm was a star at Trinity High School in Louisville, where he was named Kentucky's Mr. Football in 2003. He followed prep football with an outstanding career at Louisville, leading the Cardinals to the Orange Bowl in 2007, in which they won. Jeff was the team's quarterback coach at the time.

Brohm was drafted in 2008 by Green Bay, released by the Packers in 2009, and signed with the Buffalo Bills where he played through the 2010 season.

Brian Brohm is the third Brohm on the WKU staff, joining head coach Jeff Brohm and Greg Brohm, who is the program’s director of football operations. All three are brothers.

Tony Levine and Brian Brohm join newly-hired assistants Reggie Johnson and Chris Barclay, filling the spots of former offensive coordinator Tyson Helton and offensive line coach Neil Callaway.

The team also made known that Bryan Ellis, who coached running backs in 2015, will coach wide receivers in 2016.
